About Me
I am 58 years old, married, have one son who is grown, two dogs, and purchased an RV in 2019 so that we can travel around our beautiful country. The “we” includes my wife and our dogs Titan and Choctaw. In June of 2019, I retired from law enforcement after almost 21 years of service. At the time of my retirement, I was assigned to the Violent Crimes Unit at the police agency I worked for and my sole task was to investigate adult rapes, adult sexual assaults, and animal cruelty cases. When I say “adult” I mean I was only assigned to adult cases and I did not investigate crimes against children. My case load was astronomical and I was physically exhausted. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved my job. But I was loosing myself in the darkness of the cases I investigated everyday. I wanted to go to sleep at night and not dream about the horrible facts of each case. I woke up many nights wondering if I miss something in a case, did I do enough for the victims, could I win the case in court, and the list goes on. I hadn’t had a good nights sleep in a long time and it was aging me. So, I decided to retire and start a new chapter of my life.
I wanted to start a blog because I did not have the slightest idea on how to do that. I have seen blogs all over the internet, but I have never created one. I guess you could say I wanted to step outside my comfort zone and learn something new. I actually purchased a class online at Udemy.com for beginners and it has been a life saver on how to correctly start a blog.
So, be patient with me because I am learning. I hope you enjoy this blog every bit as much as I have loved putting it together.
